The peer-reviewed evidence on what that does to outcomes points the opposite way to what the question usually expects — and we explain why this site still cannot tell you who owns any particular clinic.

    Do the big fertility brands deliver better outcomes?

    Five brands run four or more U.S. clinics each. Four of the five beat the rest of the field on reported outcomes — but the spread between locations of the same brand is as wide as the gap between brands. The name on the door tells a patient less than the address does.

    Four states mandate IVF coverage and have one clinic or none

    Half of the 422 reporting U.S. fertility clinics sit in six states. At the other end, eleven states have one clinic or none — and four of those legally require insurers to cover IVF. Insurance law turns out to be a poor predictor of whether there is a clinic near you.

More in progress: a cited clinic-to-owner mapping, so the brand study above can be rerun on who actually owns each clinic rather than whose name is on it; capacity-weighted access (cycle volume rather than clinic counts); and how reported outcomes move with clinic size.
